Marathon - An atmospheric romp through space battling sinister alien forces and rescuing the crew of the UESC Marathon from enslavement while also dodging the wrath of a rampant artificial intelligence called Durandal. Great game.
Marathon 2: Durandal - An exploration of Durandal’s agenda on another world, battling not simply the Pfhor but the human dilemma of duty vs freedom. Overall lighter tone, epic adventure. Great Game.
Marathon Infinity - Duty vs Humanity questioned again. An enhanced Marathon engine and Patience Simulator. Players are hurdled through labyrinth after labyrinth (which are slightly less agonizing than the “maps” of said labyrinths) while having to read poorly written pros from would be science fiction authors in the guise of beloved Marathon Canon. Playable if you love Marathon, lousy game.
Marathon Rubicon: See previous. Excellent sound design. Inventive AND nostalgic enemies. Nerf Guns and Super Soakers for weapons. Patience Simulator.
Seriously though what the fuck, these maps are killing me! Did they know the game was 2D? Were they high? Were they sadists? Were they robots?
I have not enjoyed a day, like I did today, in a very long time.
I’m already coming to believe that quitting my job to pursue my art is one of the best decisions I’ve made since college.
This sweet little Sugar Loaf spent all Valentine’s hanging out at Hedonist Artisan Chocolates! Lucky!
But now he’ll be listed for sale on my Etsy and waiting to hang out with you!
Come visit him, he likes to be favorited!
I was lonesome after beating Deus Ex. So I carved an Anna Navarre figure out of wood. That’s a normal reaction, yes?
It’s almost Valentine’s Day!
