People sharing stories like this are what sustain me during my frequent bouts of anxiety/doubt. If I had the means I’d have this engraved and mounted on the wall of my work space because holy crap this got me right square in the feels.

Is there a reason you don't like "dude"?
Good question!
Partially I include it on my “DON’T” list as a joke – because the fact is if you’re friendly? if you’re sincere? calm? and you say to me:
“How’s it going, dude?”
I have no problem with that. No problem at all. So tone/motive is a huge factor for me.
If however…
You’re being a condescending/judgmental prick about it and say:
“Dude, are you serious right now?”
THEN we have problems because NOT ONLY will I be annoyed with how you’re approaching me? I will ALSO feel misgendered – and you will have officially found yourself on my Shit List™
(U inspired me boyfriend so much. He still likes using "he" pronouns but he's a girl and like. Idk thank you so much, he's so much more open with me when he wants help buying new clothes - and then hiding the clothes from his parents, makeup, and feminine things. You just really helped make him more confident! Thank you!)

Transitioning (or even just experimenting!) can be scary and awkward but it’s SO MUCH BETTER when you have a friend/partner who has your back. Just remember (both of you!) to be safe!
